Where can I set my tent up for free?
While national forests and BLM land are the most common places to find free camping, other types of public lands in the United States and Canada offer up pockets of campsites in different states and regions. State parks, city parks, and county parks sometimes maintain free camping areas.
Where can I RV camp for free?
You can often find areas for free-of-cost, dispersed camping on public lands. Most of the free areas are located on Forest Service Land or in Bureau of Land Management (BLM) areas, Wildlife Management Areas (WMS’s) or county and city parks.
Is there free camping in BC?

Lovely open grassy area surrounded by farm land and a creek. There are 3 sites, each with a picnic table, fire pit and a shared vault toilet. Easy to find off of the Crowsnest Highway 3 while travelling east from Osoyoos.
Is Apgar campground first-come first serve?
One of two large campgrounds near the west entrance of Glacier National Park, Apgar offers first-come, first-served sites (except for a few group sites). This is the best campground on the west side to leave the car keys in the tent or trailer.

Does Glacier National Park allow dispersed camping?
While there is no dispersed camping inside Glacier National Park, there is plenty of it just outside of its western border inside Flathead National Forest. There are numerous forest roads where dispersed camping is allowed. You can find hundreds of previously-used campsites all of which are free.
